UNIQUE

Our heart is for everyone who attends the Commission Festival this summer to feel welcomed, valued, and included. We run a range of different provisions so that whatever your age or ability you can come expectant to meet with God in a way that is accessible and appropriate for you.

Adults: Count Everyone In

We have the fantastic team from ‘Count Everyone In’ running a morning meeting for adults with learning difficulties or disabilities. This will run concurrently with the mainstream adult programme and will include accessible worship, teaching, and prayer. If you think this service would benefit you, or someone you support, then sign up here

UNIQUE: Inclusion Support

Our experienced inclusion support team will be on hand in all of the different Commission Kids and Youth programmes to help young people who usually attend a mainstream school with an EHCP, or those who may just need a bit of specialist support to help them access the mainstream programme with their peers.

In each Commission Kids age group there will be some sensory resources and a quiet space for those who need some time out with our team. Children will be encouraged to engage with the mainstream programme throughout the weekend in both their morning and evening meetings (where applicable) alongside our inclusion workers.

If you think your child would enjoy attending the mainstream Kids and Youth programmes but would benefit from some specialist support then just click the accessibility box when you book in or emailing kids@commission.global. Our team will then be in touch to discuss specific support needs and how we can best help you access Commission Festival as a family in the summer months.

UNIQUE: Specialist Provision

This is for children and young people who will benefit best from a specialist provision. Here children and young people will receive 1:1 support from an experienced member of our team with activities that are tailored to suit them. We will enjoy times of worship, bible teaching, and prayer, alongside our favourite sensory activities, crafts, games, and fun! The Accessible Programme runs alongside the mainstream morning meetings only.

We will have our own accessible toilet and can assist those who need support accessing this, however like our preschool colleagues, if your child needs hands-on personal care then we will call you to come and help at this moment. Our team is trained and experienced in supporting children with physical disabilities, autism, and communication needs, and are confident using Makaton. We also work closely with the medical team who can support with any tube feeds or medication needed during the morning meeting.

If you think this provision could be right for your child you can sign up to attend by clicking the accessibility box when you book or emailing events@commission.global. Our team will then be in touch to discuss specific support needs and how we can best help you access the Festival as a family in the summer months.

Meet the team

Harriet Code

Hi I’m Harriet, I’m based at Welcome Church in Woking, where I lead the kids ministry for school years 5-6. I’ve been privileged to serve with the Ark team at Commission’s Westpoint Festival where I supported children with additional needs to access the mainstream KS2 group. I’m so excited to bring this experience to Commission Festival this summer to develop an even better provision that will help children from 3-16 to access, engage with, and enjoy their mainstream groups!

During the week, I am a Senior Leader at a local primary school and have been working in education for almost 15 years. Throughout this time, I’ve worked with children with a range of needs and disabilities and I’m passionate about ensuring that all children can meet with God and experience his love for them.

Phoebe Guy

Hi, I’m Phoebe and I’m honoured to be leading the specialist provision for children and young people with additional needs at Commission Festival this year! I am incredibly passionate about ensuring that young people with additional needs feel included, have their needs met, and have the best opportunity possible to meet with God.

I’ve worked with children with additional needs in a range of contexts, including my current role teaching in a special needs school, I also have an extensive history of working in respite care and one to one support. In 2019 I had the opportunity to run an SEN provision at another Christian festival, and also served on the Ark team at Westpoint for a number of years.
