The Unique team run morning sessions for children who have difficulty accessing the mainstream kids or youth work. Unique workers may also provide additional support for children requiring support to access the mainstream sessions. 

What will I be doing? 

In Unique all the children have a 1:1 person to support them. So you would have a child to look after and support. You will also be helping them with the different activities on offer as well as helping them to engage in the teaching and worship times. Another part of this role is supporting young people in their mainstream venues so you may not actually be in the Unique venue. 

Is this the right team for me? 

Some experience of working with children with disabilities is a bonus if you’re looking to serve in this team but isn’t essential. What is important is that you are willing to be flexible and to change plans and support in other venues when needed. It’s also a great team if you’re looking for somewhere to get stuck in and make a difference. Unique can be quite a chilled-out environment and a really rewarding one if you’re passionate about seeing children grow in their relationship with God. Servers on this team would be expected to have a personal faith that they are able and willing to share and model with the children. You will also be required to complete a DBS, self-disclosure and please be aware that we will be taking references from your church leader.

How much will I be serving? 

Approximately 4 morning or evening meetings.
