Theology for Life gives anyone the opportunity to explore the core beliefs of the christian faith alongside other like-minded students, enriching your devotional life and equipping you in your christian service and leadership.

Our level 1 training course aims to be accessible and affordable, running one Saturday a month for a year from September - July.

Syllabus Overview

Theology for Life teaches the core doctrines of the Christian faith as it is laid out in the Nicene Creed.

    Trinity: God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit

  • Creating Life

    The Creation Story (Genesis 1 and 2)

  • Losing Life

    The Fall (Genesis 3)

  • Gospel Life

    Salvation: The Incarnation, The Atonement, The Resurrection and Ascension 

  • Church Life

    Church: God’s people

  • The Eternal Life

    The End Times

Course Leaders

Torquay Training Base

Pete Clayton

Pete is the currently the Lead Pastor of Together Church in Torquay, where he has been based since 2019 and prior to this he was an on staff at Life Church Southampton. Pete is passionate about seeing Churches that contextualise the gospel to the communities around them. He loves theology and wants to help make theological study accessible to all. He is currently finishing his thesis for his MTh degree with Commission and Union School of Theology.

Mick Taylor

Mick is an elder at Grace Church, Exeter having served in Newfrontiers churches in Bracknell, London and Bournemouth. He studied for a BA in theology at Spurgeon’s College and did post-graduate studies at Westminster Theological Seminary and Kings College London. For over 30 years Mick has been involved in Newfrontiers Training.

Winchester Training Base

Duncan Sills

Duncan is the Lead Pastor of Christ Church Fareham which was planted in September 2018. He has a History degree and studied Theology & Pastoral Studies at London Seminary, where he also learnt to read Greek and Hebrew. Duncan is currently studying for his master’s in Theology with the Commission learning community based at Westminster Chapel.
