Stewarding

This team is responsible for stewarding the various site venues for meetings and seminars across the event.

What will I be doing?

As a steward you’ll be part of a team responsible for manning the various site venues across the event and will be the point of contact for delegates and team to come to in each venue if they need assistance. Responsibilities will include manning the doors to the venues to ensure only those who should be at the meeting enter, helping direct people during a meeting if required and providing general assistance to delegates where needed. The other key part of a steward’s role is in the case of an emergency where you may be helping with evacuations in the case of a fire and being alert in the case of a lost child. All the relevant training on radios and emergency protocol will be provided for you.

Is this the right team for me?

This team is a great fit for you if you like working closely with people and love being part of a team. It’s a varied and fast-paced role, with the opportunity to see what’s going on across the site – from children’s work to festival activities, from seminars to main meetings. It’s important you can remain calm during the busy times and in the case of emergencies, and that you’re someone who can be friendly and helpful to the delegates and teams you’re working with.

How much will I be serving?

Stewards will be split into 2 teams working approx. 5 shifts across the event. This team tends to serve for more hours than some other teams however they will get to be in most of the adult meetings.
