The 8-11s teams run the morning and evening sessions at Commission Festival with a range of lively and engaging activities to help children grow in the things of God.  

What will I be doing? 

We aim to have a space where kids hear from Gods word, have opportunity to engage with Him and put in to practice the ways that He changes them. Helpers in Kids: 8-11s will have responsibility for a small group of kids; joining them in worship, games, prayer, discussion and activities. Morning meetings will involve teaching, small group activities, musical worship, games, drama, craft and gunge! In the evenings the 8-11s will meet for more teaching, worship, games, and gunge but these will have a more relaxed feel with plenty of social time and ministry as well. Leaders will be on the front line of discipling children in these times, answering their questions, getting to know them as individuals, and praying with them for salvation, and spiritual gifts amongst others. If you love discipling children and coming alongside them as they deepen their faith then these meetings are where you want to be!

Is this the right team for me? 

If you love seeing God engage and use kids in His Kingdom now, then Kids: 8-11s is for you. As a team member it’s important you’re able to engage with the kids, with a readiness to get to know them individually. A willingness to participate in all activities – crafts, games, silliness, discussion and worship is also really important. Finally, the 8-11s team want to demonstrate loving and honouring one another so that this then can be modelled to the children. Servers on this team would be expected to have a personal faith that they are able and willing to share and model with the children. You will also be required to complete a DBS, self-disclosure and please be aware that we will be taking references from your church leader.

How much will I be serving? 

4 morning meetings (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday pack-down) or 4 evenings (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
