Priscilla Scholarship

We are excited let you know that we are offering a “Priscilla Scholarship" which offers a 50% contribution toward fees for 2 women to study at either Level 3 Graduate Diploma in Theology or Level 4 Masters in Theology in partnership with Union School of Theology (www.ust.ac.uk).

If you have a current teaching role in any area of church life, or sense God stirring you to grow in this gift, then we would warmly welcome you consider applying for this scholarship. We would encourage you to discuss this with an elder or appropriate leader within your church, and to feel free to contact the training team at Commission to explore further. Suitable candidates will then have an interview with Tim Blaber (Director of Training) before the application is submitted to Union School of Theology. The deadline for applications is 7th August but it would be helpful if applications could be made ASAP.

We carry a God given responsibility to develop the gifts of all people within our churches, irrespective of age, gender or ethnicity. Sadly we recognise, that for various reasons some find opportunities to study at a higher level harder to come by, for no fault of their own, and our hope is that these scholarships will offer the encouragement and incentive needed to help women take that next step in their theological studies.

Many of us have been inspired by the teaching of Jen Wilkin (www.jenwilkin.net) and Hannah Anderson (www.sometimesalight.com), who have written theologically rich books, steeped in Scripture which have helped the wider church gain some fresh perspectives on ancient gospel truth. We are eager to develop female teachers and theologians within Commission who would make a significant contribution to our own training programmes and strengthen the various ministries of the local church.

Deadline to apply for Scholarship is 30th July
