‘Llamados 2024’ retreat gives church prophetic call to prepare for expansion.

From 11th - 13th October our churches - Cristo Salvador in Madrid and Cristo Vencedor in Huercal Overa - joined together in a yearly church retreat called “Llamados” 2024. This year we had around 120 guests, and our guest speakers were Immanuel from the United States, and Russell White, from Bournemouth. They shared both encouraging stories that contributed to our vision and the efforts of the church.

Messages from the Weekend

The messages throughout this retreat profoundly resonated with both congregations. God spoke to us about the importance of aligning with His will and how we can contribute with Him in His mission. Immanuel Pothen shared a prophecy that in light of our actual situation, it especially felt appropriate. His word challenges us to open up our “dams” in areas like Las Rozas, an area in Alcala de Henares and Segovia, where we feel that God is guiding us to take the next step. The vision of establishing “dams” isn’t only a metaphor, it’s an invitation to create places where life and hope can flow and places that can cultivate “ecosystems of The Kingdom”. We are planing our next steps to give life to this initiative and the response from our church has been outstanding.

Commitment

Throughout the retreat, our congregation raised a special offering of 16,288 euros. This generosity isn’t only a testament of the faith of our community, but also this will help partly contribute to our purchase of our building in Las Rozas. This place is essential, since the church has had a need to expand for a long time; our current building is too small for all of our needs as our congregation continues to grow.

Baptisms

Another special moment of our retreat was the celebration of baptisms on Sunday afternoon, just before our retreat came to a close. A total of 6 people got baptised; 2 teenager and 4 adults, among which was a married couple. Seeing these new believers take this step of faith was a reminder to us all that our vision is only just giving fruit and bit by bit our family in Spain is growing. Every life transformed is a story adding up to one big tale of what God is doing in us.

Conclusion

“Llamados” 2024 was a time of a spiritual renewal and a reminder that we are in a season of growth. God is calling us to be brave, to dream big and to act in faith. As we move into this prophecy of opening up “dams” and as we promise to strengthen our vision, we are sure that God will continue to guide us and to provide for all that He has entrusted us.

We continue to pray and collaborate together, trusting that the best is yet to come. Thank you to everyone who made Llamdos 2024 happen and to each of you for your promise in God’s works!

Prayer Requests:

  • That God guides us and reveals his plan of growth to Segovia, Alcala de Henares and Las Rozas.

  • That God opens the doors to our new building in Las Rozas and for provision of funds for it.
