We'd like to invite you (or those in admin roles within your church) to join us as we gather together to hear Gavin Smith inspire us as we work to serve our Church families. Gavin serves as the Church Administrator for Christchurch, Newport, a role he has been in for the last 18 years. He is passionate about the gospel and strengthening the church by supporting the work that happens behind the scenes. He also set up and runs thechurchoffice.co.uk, which exists to support leadership and ministry work that happens behind the scenes.
In our first session, Gavin will be reminding us of the joy and privilege that we have to serve our local churches with the gift of administration. Exploring the need for these gifts to be both exercised in faith and dependence upon God, and then looking at how we can stamp the character of God on our work.
In his second session, Gavin will spend a short time opening up Exodus 18, considering Jethro’s advice to Moses as we think more about structures, people and work flows. Gavin will then present a Good Church Management Framework that he hopes will serve us as we think about serving and managing our volunteers, releasing gifting and ultimately serving our mission.
Lunch will be provided.
