Commission Festival 2023

Bright coloured tents covered in the morning’s heavy dew, an autumnal chill is in the air and people stamp their cold feet in silent queues outside the showers. The smell of frying bacon awakens nostrils enticing campers to emerge from their cosy sleeping bags. Children dart between the guy ropes, escaping parental controls, laughing and giggling with their newly made friends. A golden sun lazily climbs over the treeline, and we know it’s going to be another beautiful day at our Commission summer festival.

Memories, so many happy memories of times spent away from home and surrendered to meeting others and in particular God. So many God-moments, children saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and our youth released to be light bearers in their schools. Families together joyfully joining a thousand tongues to sing our great Redeemer’s praise. Messages equipping us to be salt and light to the communities where we live. Evenings of hilarious giving which enable us to send our best to the nations and plant churches in new situations that need gospel proclamation and demonstration.

It will be 4 years (next year) since we last gathered in the Westpoint Showground for the Festival. I believe next year’s Festival will write thousands of new memories for all those who come and God-willing change all of our lives. I also know there are many people who don’t have any of these ten years of wonderful memories and for them this new event called Commission Festival is their opportunity to taste and see all of the above and more.

Let’s make it special, let’s make the effort, let’s see our prayers answered, our children and families blessed and let us do this together, united as one family, acknowledging this is our privilege, our event, our heritage.

(NB first price break finishes 31 October, and you can pay in instalments)
